Born in a traditional & Music loving family, Radhika is the younger child of Sri Mylavarapu Venkata Rao and Smt. Mylavarapu Sarada. Both her parents have learnt Carnatic Music and are very good Music rasikas. Naturally, the seeds of music were sown right in her childhood. After the completion of 10th standard, Radhika got admitted into the science group in the +2 level and her father wanted her to pursue Engineering but she refused to take up the science group and instead insisted that she would join the Music group. Such was her interest in Music. Radhika went on to do her graduation in Music from BVK College, Visakhapatnam and Post Graduation from Andhra University and won the Gold Medal. She has also acquired the doctoral degree in Music from Sri Padmavathi Mahila University, Tirupathi.
Radhika got married into a family of Musicians where the heritage of music is being carried over for three generations now. Radhika’s husband also plays Veena. Radhika is an ‘A’ grade artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan. She also sings vocal duet with her sister Ms. Santhi and is placed in the ‘B-high’ grade (Vocal Duet) of A.I.R and Doordarshan.
